Casey Stoner and Andrea Dovizioso to start the season with 'standard' 2011 chassis. Repsol Honda team-mate Dani Pedrosa still to decide.

If I understand this correctly,Casey and Dovi have settled on the standard (stiffer one).Dani is waiting till after Quatar to decide.
I would say advantage right now to Casey and Dovi.
All they have to do is focus on testing and race day set up. Dani is perhaps playing the hit and miss card.
Fairness to Dani,he is wise to try out the last test before committing to one or the other. His physical mass/stature may well dictate a more flexible package.
Most intrigueing.Casey and Dovi are both very late braker's.Dani's massive strength has always been corner speed.I would not be surprised to see Dani opt for the softer more compliant option post Quatar testing.
One thing for sure.HRC are availing their riders every opportunity to grab 2011 honours.Which is a good thing. They certainly have not succumbed to the temptation of placing all their eggs in one basket.

speaking of options... who here attended a grandprix last year...? i ask, because i'd swear honda (unlike ducati) actually ran 2 different firing orders. dani had a big bang (i think) while dovi ran a screamer config. in a live setting, there was a noticable difference in exhaust notes between the 2 bikes (1 high, 1 deep). something not noticeable on the telly. anybody else on the planet observe this...?

I don't think Pedrosa will choose the flexible one(2011 modified) simply because he doesn't tried it,he's doing back to back comparison between 2010 version and 2011 standard version.
And i've read he sets his fastest laps on the 2011 santdard

Pedrosa is yet to decide, and has a slightly different decision to make since he has continued to use last year's chassis alongside a 'new' 2011 chassis. Repsol Honda said that this new chassis is the standard 2011 option.

I don't notice exhaust sounds difference between the 3 repsol honda riders,i think its screamer for everyone

I think the Honda is the bike this year, as a base product. I think the trouble last 2 seasons is Pedrosa changes everything so often and so wildly I bet Honda just chase their tales. He thinks pink grips will help and he gets them, the massive changes dont help. Stoner I'm sure knows that now his ex team manager is there and he'll be doing the corporate thing. Thats the way Honda works. by process.

Well good luck to all of them.As for chassis options well they seem to be reasonable either way yet Stoner could probably lap just as good with a wheelbarrow chassis.Go the mighty HRC team.

Pedrosa is wise and clever. its not that easy to choose, anyway there is one more testing left. Hope he will pick the best out of it. I guess, he has already a prosfect but he want to confirm it in another track. Gud luck Dani...

There Is one Question that no one seems to be asking why wasn't Danny Also testing the 2011 Modified Version ........... seems strange to me that there Best and top Racer From Previous seasons was not testing a newer Version of the frame .......unless he did test it in earlier tests and didn't like it??

Does Anyone know if this maybe the case??
