British Eurosport is giving nostalgic MotoGP fans the chance to re-live some of the classic races by televising them again in 2011.

I agree Locks...

I actually emailed the Beeb a while back to ask why they don't even have a section for WSBK on their sport website considering they do have one for table tennis & bowls (WTF)!! But in hindsight I'm actually glad they don't cover it because they would balls that up too and I prefer listening to Jack & James. The only thing I can give credit to the beeb for is that they have some half decent features before the race starts which Eurosport don't do but other than that Eurosport wins hands down. It is after all the home of motorbikes....

@pp916

These are not reruns... if u watched the first series at christmas they were late 80s / early 90s 500cc and TT races. These are nearly all Motogp 990/800 races

Eurospott is a dedicated sport channel the Beeb isn't,
if ye dint like the BBC don't use its services,I myself am quite happy to do so.
So what do I get,motogp,F1,IOM races,Irish road racing.Quality documentaries Sheene hunt,Grahamm Hill,Guy Martin on his boat(7.30 tonight on 1).5 live radio sport so I can listen to F1 when have to work on Sundays and to think it's all on the iplayer so if i miss anything it's all at the click of a button.

@Locks you don't have to watch on your computer if you have a common adapter piece. It's got the 2 same ends I can't remember what's it's called right now but I hook it from my lap top to my big screen t.v and watch. Hit source and set the t.v on "PC" it will take motogp.com and put it right on your t.v screen and it looks just the same.

VGA to VGA cable needed to connect from PC to TV or if your PC has it a HD cable is even better :-)

Watched Australia 89 last night on Best battles, what a race that was...... one of the best of all time in my books...

And Julian's!

@MD Zane hey man no problem if you are happy with them fair enough. It's just that i remember the bad old days before they realised how much interest there was in Moto GP. Years ago you could only get MOTO GP coverage on Eurosport so i stick with them. But i do have a big problem with the fact that we don't even get result updates for WSB or BSB races. Anyway enjoy the season man and catch you again sometime .

You can't please all of the people, all of the time.
And it's for that reason we can turn the channel over!

I personally don't have a problem with the beeb commentary. Ok it's pretty simple and they miss a lot of what goes on, but that's why I have my own eyes and ears!
And there are no adverts, either.
Motorcycle racing is not a main stream sport so we can't expect it to be treated as such.
Anyway, back on topic I think this is an excellent idea from Eurosport.

'89 Phillip Island is the most incredible race I've ever seen in 30 years as a GP nut. Record it! Gardner, Schwantz, Rainey, Doohan, all at 110%, the whole race, a truly amazing slugfest. Legendary tuner Erv Kanemoto is in tears by the end, for good reason. If you haven't seen this race, you don't know what an open-class Grand Prix can be.

Locks, I don't like having to switch over from Eurospurt after the Moto2 but it has to be done. As we have said before we have to pay for the licence to watch po0p TV, and po0p is usually whats served up. It keeps my wife glued to the "time waster" in the corner of the lounge.

Like you say about the results from other race series, the beeb could tell you the results EVEN if they don't have the rights to screen it. It's all about how many watch rather than what they want to see. Dray and me were discussing this on another thread and he pays to watch MotoGp.com. Good on him for choosing and if they upset him he can cancel the subs to them which we can't. £1:00 to bolt Eurosport to your package is top value on Sky. If I had my way I would offer an all sports only package so you never have to watch sitcoms/romcoms and watch with no think Tv EVER AGAIN.
