MotoGP » Rossi’s best so far as a Ducati rider

“The last run was particularly positive and my final lap time, done with a hard tyre that had 19 laps on it, was my best, a bit more than a tenth off of second place" - Valentino Rossi.

Holds breath in expectation....

.... falls unconscious onto keyboard.

To be fair I suppose its a fairly big improvement.

But like Stoner pointed out 'We've maybe 20% in hand, the time right now are below last years'.

Rossi's held the Duck around about last years best times quite a lot ..... Their problem is everybody else has *raised* their game.

Nothing like another rider on a lower spec Ducati to make you pull your finger out and leave the excuses behind.Well done I hope you can keep it up and not slide backwards from here.Watch out for that front end and stay out of the gravel!

Having previously been part of the "this is only just practice/testing" chorus as the Great One was doing so abysmally, I must in all fairness now greet this apparent "improvement" with the same stoic insistence that we simply must wait for the race. Having got that out of the way, let me speak directly to the GOAT: "Dear Valentino, I for one have absolutely no doubt that you still have and will continue to have problems with your shoulder for a long time if not for ever. But, pleeeaaaase, whether you are asked about it or not, could you please shut the feathers up about it... and let the riding chips fall where they may??!!

The improvements are becoming evident.

They'd be a lot more improvements if they didn't try to build a whole new bike instead of using Stoner's setup from the beginning. I'm glad they finally did.

We all know Barbera will no where be near the front come race day the Dukes are gonna have a day to forget IMO only Stoner can get the best out of that bike.

Let the games begin, the best at these will come through comes seasons end.

I don't understand what all the fuss is about with Rossi stating his shoulder is playing up, we all know it's genuine.

Once it's healed properly then I doubt that we will hear about it again.
