Goerge Lorenzo has to be the standout rider at this race. That SOB HATES to lose. Spies and Hayden got swallowed up at the start but Nicky rode well considering a fried clutch and a stop to avoid DePuniet. Rossi impressive as usual. The level is highest since I started to follow in 2003.

Karel Abraham impressed me this weekend. All of the cynical naysayers had their knives out when his participation was first mentioned last year but yet he leaves the first round with three world championship points. Yes that was the last rider across the line but it is a whole lot better than De Puniet, Bautista, Capirossi and Elias. He is also on the bike that is the hardest one to ride. I hope he continues to do well and wipes the smug faces of some of the cynics who slated the guy. Go Abaja!!!!!

I was just impressed there was much of a race at all. We are so used to seeing a parade that it was great to see battles all through out the field and throughout the race!

I would say Jorge. He did much better than I thought. Everyone else did about what I figured they would do. Spies was the only one that was disappointing.

Casey Stoner and the Honda bike does look very good, the test times really showed the pace here. Lorenzo looks quick as well. Cal Crutchlow look good, needs time though to beat Carl Edwards.

1. Stefan Bradl - extremely well prepared bike and a victory in a very dominant manner - Go for the championship, Stefan!

2. Casey Stoner - he switched to a completely strange bike he has never ridden before and won in an impressive manner, dusting of the reigning World Champion who was on a bike he knew since years - and Casey could have raced even quicker.

3. Ben Spies - racing and overtaking Rossi in a humiliating fashion - that showed Rossi that running behind the biggest cash does not automatically lead to championship.
