Casey Stoner seemed to show greater maturity in his race craft - Lorenzo clearly riding over the limit but getting a result - Pedrosa / Rossi both getting the best out of respective bikes while carrying injuries(both looked totally knackered at the end of the race - Cal riding well, having seen his glove, don't want to see his finger. - On the negative side - the crazy situation created by Suzuki. Why wasn't Hopper out there just in case? Ben Spies under performed, after his pre-season showing. And time to look at Caparossi's future, much as I like him.

Yes, Casey impressed as winner of his first race on the Honda, but we also learned that it was his skill which made the Ducati a winner on so many occasions and that he did not just pin the throttle in the corners and let the electronics take over, otherwise other riders including Rossi would be able to place better on the Duc. I have gained a new respect for Casey's skills as a rider. I know he can be a jerk on occasion, but he sure can ride and he has a hot wife!

Ace it's getting old, we know you feel Rossi is a joke (7 WCs in premier class (9 in total) in 500cc 2 stroke, 990s and 800s and two different manufacturers) and you have stated that on multiple threads. And equally that the results for Stoner on the Honda are purely Stoner (Hondas four of the top 5). But change the record.

I'm impressed with how all the money and engineering can make you go slower than last year! I'm also impressed with how Rossi, Burgess, Preziosi et al can think that the motorcycling world will forget the disrespect they've dished out in the last six months!
I'm betting Hayden will be the first to snap and tell it how it is, and it won't be good.

"The Desmosedici is a tough bike to ride, and Stoner remains the only one to do so thus far. Maybe some of his crashes were caused by his struggles to dominate the bike?"
As stated by Carlo Pernat! Gee, are all Italians as clever as this bloke?
I'm amazed that no journalist has actually come out and stated this fact without pu55yfooting around trying not to hurt millions of rampant fans feelings!

I'm pretty late to this post and haven't read every post so forgive if I'm repeating anyone else, but I have to say Stoner was very impressive from the get go, he showed great maturity to control the race but the most impressive has to be Lorenzo, I just love his fighting spirit when the flag drops the bull55it stops, I think he was so pleased with second position not only for splitting the two fastest Honda's but just shaking off that fast team mate was a relief, this season is going to get better, bring it on!
