Pedrosa is the only one that kept this thing from being a snore fest. Before his shoulder gave him grief, he put on a decent show. But other than that there were absolutely no surprises. We all knew Stoner would win, and anyone who counted Lorenzo out was kidding themselves. The only thing that surprised me was that Pedrosa didn't finish in second.

Personally I was impressed with the way Stoner managed the race. In the past he would have tried to force his way to the front on lap one, go balls to the wall until he was a few seconds out or fell off, then settle in.
Compare this to Rossi who's well known for managing his races & picking his time to go.
Stoner showed a maturity in his race plan that I'm not sure we've seen much of in the past.

Rossi's development of M1 which makes it a bike on which an 'average' rider such as George can compete with Hondas
------------------------------------------------------

That's why Rossi gave an ultimatum to Yamaha to chose between him and Jorge, cause Jorge the average rider beat him in nearly every race last year..

The obvious "Standout" was Stoner, He won!
He was consistent, and he was faster.
I've checked all the lap times by Dani and Jorge and Casey and they were all consistent. Just one rider was faster though, and he pulled out another second with 8 laps remaining and won the race.

Casey stoner for managing the race, keep dani in reaching distance and Jlo behind, when it was time to put some faster laps he just went a did a few and bye bye to the rest. Someone mentioned Honda passes where on the front staight, well both passes on dani and the one on lorenzo where in turns none in the straight line, so speed didn't matter there.

Honda for making a sweet package.

Lorenzo for fighting.
Dani for trying to keep up.

Spies would have been further up if he got a better start, kangaroo start but his pass, was excellent and for Rossi to lose the front after trying to lean on Ben, not going to work on Ben.

Stoner ringing the nuts off that Honda, after taking a watch of Pedrosa then to strike, the clear off.

Then Jorge to pass Pedrosa for 2nd, how pissed off did Pedrosa look on the podium.

So for me,Ben,Stoner, Jorge, did alright i think

Marco Simoncelli. Although a world champion also a prone crasher when riding on the limit and never dominated in 250's like Jorge. He has surprised me last year with showing steady progress and first race this year he seems to effortlessly pick up where he left it riding amongst the top five and in front of Dovi. Question is whether the progress will continue. Dovi showed the same progress in his MotoGP career but seems to have come to a stop just behind the top three most races. Maybe Simoncelli is able to make that final step and fight for the podium soon.
