quote from Sweeble
"Top six would be good, podium would be brilliant. But he's not going to be ahead of either of the factory Yamahas or the Repsol Hondas if they finish - that's just the laws of physics"

Not the 'Laws of Physics' dude its the 'Law of the Jungle'

All you guys that are giving up on the champ, probably had him written off when he lost the titles in 06, 07. Not me. Still beat everyone bar 2 last year, after breaking his leg as well. Awesome. Keep gritting your teeth, it's a long season.

Jorge will be very hard to beat here, but if Dani's shoulder holds up there could be a real battle. The Spanish rider seem to gain an extra half second here with the massive crowd supporting them.

But I hope Casey can spoil the party and win.

Brave words, on past performance this is one of the tracks that we could forgive a sixth place finish for the team, conversely, no excuses for Stoner not to be at the pointy end.

The understeer was widely reported when the the big bang engine was employed.
Stoner:
“Instead of the bike always wanting to buck and weave, with this engine, because it's got that much more torque, it's trying to drive the bike out (understeer) instead. So we're having to change the set-up completely to get the bike to turn better on the exits.

“It's something we never really had a problem with on the old bike, because it spun so much we always got good turn on the exits. Now we're working on the chassis to try and keep the (new) grip while still getting the bike to turn.

“My arms are actually having trouble hanging on because it's getting so much more traction.”
end quote

Too much rear traction and it has been a dog ever since. I would like to see Rossi do a race on the screamer.
cheers all

On contrary, Rossi love what Stoner hate on Ducati which is the level of the rear traction. Both of them are so opposite with their riding preferences let me believe they can't ride each other bike. Stoner may gone south if ride the Yamaha 2010 similar to Rossi now.

This will be a miserable weekend for the red crew. Jerez is twisty and flowing with no long straight - it doesn't favor the Ducati at all. This weekend will be another fight with the Hondas and Yamahas with the Yamahas on more even footing this time around.

Stoner battling with Danny and Jorge in this race and maybe most of the season (provided dans shoulder holds up ok) Hopefully lots of close racing for all on the grid. If Vale can finish 5th or 6th on the Duc at this track I think he has chances to get on the podium elsewhere. Good luck all.

re Mr Someone and "riding style",
The big bang on an inline 4 is a proven success and it makes sense. On a V4 it is neither. All this work to try and make the Ducati something that it is not. I think that if Stoner was still on a Ducati for 2011 then it would be a screamer and it would be at the pointy end.

cheers until the next blue moon
