I still find it incredible that there are still idiots on here that have no idea what they are talking about. Injuries and surgery can and do cause debilitating pain and loss of performance.
People with, seemingly, no comprehension of the effect an injury may have keep posting about excuses. Just try racing into a corner at 200mph, braking hard and supporting your weight on a weak or painful shoulder/arm/wrist/whatever, then maybe you might shut up with the rediculous comments and start talking sense.

You can have all the pain killing injections possible and grit your teeth to ride through pain as they wear off during the race, but if you lose feeling and/or strength as the result of trapped nerves or blood vessels, there's absolutely nothing you can do about it. If you could reason with unreasonable people, there wouldn't be any unreasonable people, so no doubt the same idiots will keep on posting the same nonsense about excuses. "Against stupidity the gods themselves contend in vain."
