Expected Pedrosa to be super quick but I'm sure that dud shoulder will come back to haunt him during the race. Sooner he gets it fixed the better.

What's happened to Spies? Disappointing his performance so far on factory Yamaha. I know he got plenty of natural speed but where did it go?

Good to see de Puniet and Crutchlow in the mix...upsetting a few factory rides I bet.

Wow nice nice time there Dani!
Bodes well for the race, looks like Stoner just needs some more setup time and he will be untouchable here in the last half of this race.
Can't wait!

Dani obviously has the fastest bike and can be fastest, but his shoulder can't take the effort for long, slowing drastically in a race. Rossi already struggles more, making endurance more of a factor from the off, and contributing to overall lower laptimes. I really hate to say it, but I think that Rossi's shoulder is part of the reason he doesn't improve much relative to everyone else. I think Dani is more a more dramatic or better (if you will) representation of the same problem. Really bad if your teammate is Casey Stoner.

So how do you explane Rossi putting his fastest lap times in near the end of the Qatar race?

I'd stop looking for excuses for Rossis' poor performances on the Ducati as the simple fact is he cant ride it like stoner, end of.
