Hope the shoulder last for Dani but I have a feeling after 15-20 laps he might fade and we could see Simo on the podium instead. Good luck to him though.

About the weight/fuel consumption I have noticed alot of the riders looking skinny as ever. It obviously must be a small advantage with the 800cc. I see no problem with the looking into it I mean you don't think Dani get's rocket starts every race because he is more masterful releasing the clutch do ya?. It makes sense about the fuel consumption as well.

You put less strain on the entire front end under braking, you accelerate faster on the straights, you are more aerodynamic, and you consume less fuel.

So looks like Rossi and Simo aren't the only ones. But it's easier for the gossip girls to just blindly hate on VR.

Weight parity is not all it seems, in fact it would probably put the smaller guys at a serious disadvantage.

The equaliser for body weight is braking ....a short fit guy has short arms and a low body weight so he cannot move as much weight over the rear wheel when braking. Now before you start muttering 'bullsh*t' Crash printed brake application points a while ago for different riders at the same corner on the same track ...guess who were the earliest brakers, ..Pedrosa, Stoner, Caperossi. And we're not talking a couple of feet, it was something like 10 to 15 meters. The latest brakers were Rossi (180cm) and Lorenzo.

The straight on a circuit makes up about 20 to 25% of the track and this is the only place light riders have an advantage. Adding 20kg to Pedrossa's bike would destroy the performance for the other 80% of the track. ...He may as well walk away

So who raised the initial question?

Like I said hate on VR without the facts you lemons are not fan's and will walk right off a cliff for a chance to hate on the guy, sad and pathetic.

Nobody is asking to add 20 kilos to nobody's bike. There would be a minimun weight for rider and bike, not the same weight for all. Considering that most of the grid are on the lighter side, I'd say 5 to 10 for someone like Pedrosa, who'd still be 10 kilos lighter than Sic or 3 lighter than Lorenzo. That way you'd take away some of the advantage but still make up for his disadvantages. The more I think of it, the more sense it makes. And it is important to remember that nobody is asking for equall weight and it would not happen that way. Minimum weight, not equal.

Simoncelli needs to be VERY careful here!

At a time when Honda's resources are being stretched due to the aftermath of the big earthquake, it's not terribly smart to be undermining one of the factories top riders.

Simmo could very well awaken one morning to discover that his factory supported bike has turned into a satellite overnight.

Just read the Motocuatro.com article and I have to say hats off to Dani for his response. He clearly outlines the disadvantages he has due to his size as well as the advantages. It makes very interesting reading.

It seems the issue with Simoncelli is with fuel consumption, so why are they looking for weight limits to be adjusted? Why not an increase in fuel allowance?

Its a shame a former 250 world champ is looking for changes in the rule book to handicap a rival rather than upping his game. Sic you are doing pretty well, get on with it and don't be Rossi's puppet!

Maybe Simoncelli should loose some weight :). Pedrosa isn't the only very light rider, Barbera is just 2 Kg heavier while Dovi has 3 more.

This is just Rossi trying every thing he can to try to get an advantage or disadvantage some one else. He is doing a similar thing to get PI of the calendar. All he has to do is ride better. Just ride the bike like you're being paid to.
