Aoyama is in my Fantasy Road Race team...
..but I'm going to let him go.

I think he's a very skillful rider but doesn't seem to have that final 1% he needs to succeed in MotoGP.
Yes, I know he's a 250cc world champ but they're a different breed of bike.
Aoyama has finesse on a bike, probably the opposite of Stoner! He's not the ragged risk taker that Crutchlow, De Puniet or Barberra are. On Sunday this worked in his favour, but I think most of the time this won't be an asset for him.

I think it's fair to assume this will be Aoyama's best result of the season and he'll be back to 11th/12th by Estoril.

Well he did better than Sicocelli, who is on a factory bike.
If Aoyama was riding a factory bike he'd have had the .7 seconds per lap to get on the podium.

Well, he stayed on track, but he did a lot more than just staying on track. He lost a bit of time during a middle of the pack fight for more than 10 laps but once free he managed to ride maintaining very fast laps that could have him so high up as second place!
