Despite the hearing, the review will not affect the results of the Spanish Grand Prix.

Shame the FIM never made a such a responce with an offcial enquiry about the handling of the Tomisawa crash by the marshals and the race controllers. I'd say the Jerez marshals were more clumsy rather than the Misano mob who were downright dangerous.

A few facts to ponder

*1 Stoner had already removed his bike from ontop of rossis' BEFORE the marshals arrived.

*2 Rossi was already out from under his bike BEFORE the marshals arrived.

*3 Rossis' bike was still running so why did he need 8! marshals to assist him?

*4 Why did ALL the marshals start walking back to their posts untill Stoner shouted at them?

*5 When they did actually give Stoner a hand, they almost pushed his bike over and but for one guy put little effort into bump starting the bike

This will be a routine FIM/Dorna inquiry, ie a whitewash that finds no one did anything wrong.

I just watched the Eurosport coverage again - commentator Toby Moody was shouting at the marshalls as they left Stoner, Simoncelli and others to languish. They actually were so disinterested that they dropped Simoncelli's bike! "The marshalls only want to push Valentino today" is what either Moody or Jules said, and they are generally pretty spot-on.

The starstruck marshalls fawning over Rossi is plain to see in any video. Eventually they go 'Oh we forgot Stoner' as Casey shouts at them, a couple of guys give the bike a quick shove and then they wander off. I feel for Simoncelli just as much as Stoner or even more - he was more or less ignored.

Rossi fans should note that it is NOT a criticism of Rossi to say that the marshalls favoured him - though in days gone by the bloke who caused the crash (Rossi) might have helped the innocent guy (Stoner) get restarted first. But many fans today do

re 2ndchance, Toby Mooby tweeted the video earlier (pauly also linked it in the original thread about the marshals).

Sad thing is if Casey had thought a bit more about this he could have come off looking really good. Yes he's allowed to be angry but be a bit magnanimous as he'd done the same thing to Sete (breaking Sete's wrist or finger and breaking the plate in his collar bone, oh and he took his ride the next year talk about rubbing it in :) ).

Casey could have made a lot of fans out of this....

Rossi's apology was obviously PR on Rossi's part, he knows how to work the media. Honda should be advising Casey on his PR skills.

Still, I hold no particular preference for either, they're both entertaining to watch ride... and that's what I watch for, not personalities.

Cal was complaining he didn't get any help lifting his bike. From what I saw, he crashed on a large run off area, and by the time the marshals had reached him (they appeared to be running) the little terrier had lifte

Having seen the footage of the Stoner Sete incident, your assessment is incorrect, yes Stoner's bike did take out Sete, but he was not overtaking or doing anything risky. He was ahead of Sete, crashed and then Sete ran over Stoner's bike and crashed, just a little different than what we saw in Jerez.
