As much as I'd love to see him back asap, just hope he doesn't rush it too much. Got a long career still ahead of him missing an extra race or 2 in the long run could be a wise choice.

Never ceases to amaze me how quickly these guys can recover from such horrific injuries. Make premiership footballers look like a bunch of little girls!!

I think he could be back but really think it's not worth it if he can't ride at 70-80% atleast. I wish him a speedy recovery none the less.

As for a stand in Rider ... ME!

Certain injuries need plenty of time to heal. Broken bones need at least 6 weeks depending on how severe the break to knit back together. I really think riders come back far too soon from this type of injury and risk further damage to themselves. There is also the risk that any more crashes could involve others if a rider is not fully fit. I know they have an obligation to their employers and sponsors, but sometimes it is better to be safe than sorry! I wish him well as he is a plucky little fella!!!

Man these guys are the toughest. I hope Alvaro makes a speedy recovery. Seeing Hopper on the bike must have been hard. But, Hopper did okay and at least he didn't have to deal with the mayhem in Jerez. Too bad this year is going so terribly for him and Suzuki. Hopper will be the only guy in line for them next year as Alvaro and his manager should be trying to get him on a Yamaha or Honda for next year.
