Guy's - don't get your hopes up! The electronics will still be on the bikes so although there may be a bit more sliding than the 800's it's not going to be like the old 990's.

I think there will be sliding for sure you talking 250hp on lightweight motorbikes, what electronics can control that?? If they don't bring back a bike that entertains the crowd why bother?

Do not get your hopes up, 1000cc or not, it is still a ducati, similar frame characteristics, just bigger engine.

2006 is good year for the 990 because of one thing, they switched to Bridgestones, while Yamaha and Honda are in Michelins....

Ducatis have always demanded a different tire characteristics from Yamaha or Honda due to its fundamentally different design.

Remember that the Duc 990 eats the front Michelins which is more suited to Honda and Yamaha.

When they switched, Bridgestones developed tires specially suited to the Duc.

Due to the control tires and the increased torque, I predict that Bridgestone can only produce front tires that more or less suits either Ducati or Honda/Yamaha, depending on who will be the lead rider for tire development.

Testing the 2012 bike? Yea right. There is something rotten here.... but anywhoo all teams should be able to test whenever and however they want?

Do not read the SMALL print with regs.

Top post there LAnski. This is where God of bikes may rise again when the "control" tyre supplied has been built around one machine. Honda will adapt just like Yamaha but a few rounds advantage could be the key to next years campaign. I just hope the final release tyre for next year is handed out early enough to prevent ANY manufacturer gaining any advantage.

This story about testing the Gp12 is just hot air about nothing as nothing has been given other than Vale will ride today and Nicky tomorrow.
