"I'm not saying that Rossi's career is over, but it's not a downhill ride any more, I think he's at the bottom of the slope" - Mick Doohan.

Rossi proved at Jerez 2011 that he's anything but over! Who goes from 12th to trying for 2nd, to falling, getting back on and still finishing 5th. Then there are the idiots who say Rossi has always had the best bikes ... Biaggi was one of them. Rossi went to Yamaha (worst bike in 2003) and Biaggi to Honda (best bike in 2003). Rossi won!! Whether you like him or not, he's the best rider and far from being at the bottom of the slope. They said that at the end of 2007 as well ... Rossi went on to win 2008 and 2009 after that. Watch him take a 8th and possibly a 9th Premier Title ... and then maybe a couple of WSBK Titles :)

Nothing changes here, isn't it?

Well, I don't think Vale supporters should react about what Mick has said because he isn't a Rossi hater but I think Mick got it wrong about Vale in this line:

"So I'm not saying that his career's over, but it's not a downhill ride any more, I think he's at the bottom of the slope."

Ignoring the garbage puked by certain anti-Rossi regulars here, I don't see any reason why Rossi is at the bottom of the slope. For sure, as Mick said, Vale facing many challenges from his physical fitness to Ducati issues, and also dealing with more stronger pack of competition.

Having said all that, I could see Vale coming out of those problems in flying colors by putting up a great fight for the 2011 title. No doubt there would be big races to come, both Lorenzo and Stoner would get their dues! IMO, I think Vale would win the 2011 title...probably this year is promised to be the tightest battle? (like happened in F1 2010 season)? :)

Absolutely spot-on from Doohan.
Have to laugh at the Rossi worship getting put out by someone of real stature and experience.Time to wake up eh.I am amazed at the blinkered views from them even with the facts staring them right in the face.

It is too early to be saying this, by all means in 5 or 6 races time if Valentinos pace is still below expectations feel free to say it.

@ above comment yeah cos Vale and Pedrosa were really equal on fitness. Stupid comment.

hahahaha i love the fact that all the Stoner extremists and Rossi haters get b1tchy when the VR46 fans defend their hero, but when it comes to a story about their favourite rider they act exactly the same but they are too blind to see that they do.

Well said Mick you are certainly someone whose opinion and knowledge I respect immensely.
Old Rossi is unable to match Lorenzo or Stoner or Pedosa on the same machinery.Ducati are clueless.
Stoner amazing,Lorenzo smooth like Eddie"Gunslinger"Lawson are quite a bit better than Rossi and it shows bigtime.
Will old Rossi ever win another race?Highly doubt it but I am interested to see if he can maintain his 100% crash rate and how long before another injury?
Huge question marks over old Rossi and he was rated at 4 out of 10 on Italian TV for his dismal efforts since moving to Ducati.
