There is a lovely tribute to Daijiro outside the main gates at Misano.

And also during the Misano GP weekend there is a lot of fund raising done for his family.

So he is still fondly remembered all over.

What a rider.

I rated Kato and his death was a tragic waste.
But I really don't get why this article's posting now.

We could all, well most of us, write a pretty long list of brilliantly talented riders who have died racing. But if each anniversary of each one's death warrants a story there's going to be no space for news.

If it was the 10th anniversary or something I would be less sceptical but....

The story I would really like to read is the official inquest into Tomizawa's death at Mugello last year to see if anyone's been called to account.
I somehow doubt it.

Jarno Saarinen, Daijiro Kato..... Daijiro, Jarno. You two will have much to talk about. Odd, given that your lives did not overlap and originated on opposite ends of the planet. Yet you lived the same life.
