“Although we saw at Jerez that we're already competitive in the wet, we're hoping for sun in Portugal” – Valentino Rossi.

"In Jerez Valentino was fast and competitive in the rain..."
If you crash out on your third lap, how can anybody say anything about your performance? The only thing you can say is that Vale went too fast for his own good. I really don't understand people who feel he did great or even could have won the race. Had he been dominating all weekend and been up front for the whole race, sure. But not in this case.

@Talk ... First off it was 8 laps not 3 laps. And he came from 12th on the grid to 3rd postion having set the fastest laps about 4 laps in a row. It's obvous to anyone watching he was soon going to be putting a move on his good pal Marco if he didn't make that mistake.

Also it was dry all weekend. Only rain came on sunday they made it clear right now they couldnt achieve those results in the dry yet. But in the wet he was strong look at the lap by lap before he fell.

I'll say it again, rain races are fun to watch but achieve nothing. It just messes up the Championship.
To me the fastest rider should win the Title, not the luckiest or the most consistant.
