Well it'll be interesting to see if he can carry that Estoril test pace to LM, and maybe hang with CEII during the race this time. That would be an encouraging next step up. Won't be easy tho because Colin likes this place and usually runs well here. It's still a steep learning curve on these new tracks.

Cal's impressed me. Obviously following in Spies's footsteps was always gonna be a difficult task but his 'slowly but surely' approach towards getting faster is impressive.
I reckon he'll start to outpace Colin towards the end of the season and become Tech3's lead rider for 2012.

And he's British!

Absolutely right Stuart. He is already the leading satallite rider in the championship.I do not count the Gressini Honda squad as they are on factory bikes.

Really encouraging test pace at Estoril when they had time to try lengthening the wheelbase. I hope it stays dry throughout practice and the race this time so that Cal gets more time to learn the track and find a good set up. Not knowing the circuits and the lack of testing time makes the steep learning curve for newcomers from WSBK more like scaling a cliff.

Tech3 should be more than happy with Cals progress so far this season.Early signs are he is learning all the time, what more can anyone expect of him?
If he performs this weekend on another unfamiliar track the way he did at Estoril,i will be well impressed with the guy.
