MotoGP » Ninth but ‘best qualifying’ for Rossi

"I think this was our best qualifying session since I've been at Ducati, because with just a few minutes left, I was inside sixth place" - Valentino Rossi.

Rossi, the fastest Ducati again. The bike is a dog as we all know but Rossi goes better in the race. All the people getting carried away with Hayden's pace on Friday now have egg on their faces! Great to see Marco Sim close to Stoner's pace. If he can stay on the bike it should be a good race. Would love to see him cut up Lorenzo so we can watch him shake his head as usual. Crutchlow is doing really well but remember that Toseland got off to a good start then totally lost it. Let's hope it doesn't happen to Cal.

I remember the days when Rossi would qualify 16th and still win, or get a 10 second penalty and then win by 5 seconds! He will not give up and hes no fool, do you really think he took a Ducati ride just to ride around midpack? GO Rossi GO!

The good thing about Rossi qualifying 9th is.. there will actually be some exciting racing as he picks his way through the field, though I am hoping Marco and Dani show the aussie moaner how to mix it up and race!

Seems that they very much underestimated the performance and ability of Casey Stoner last year given the poor performance the team and their riders have been producing this year. I hope things improve soon.

Still quietly hopeful that Rossi will improve as the season progresses.

Nothing more humbling or inspiring than to see an ex champion and an old warrior try to pick up the pieces of his former glory.

He will still come good and give us a few more flashes of "Il Dotorre" before all is said and done.
