The former champion was aboard a developing version of the Ducati GP12, just over a month after first riding the machine in Spain.

Probably would've been better to test the GP12 at a track that hasn't been resurfaced recently.

Now, the data will be a bit cloudy.

Did lap times improve according to development or because the track grips better now?

More variables means finding relevant data could be more difficult.

Great to hear everything is going in the right direction.

Matter-fact, Mugello looks so awesome! The new grandstand is INCREDIBLE, and I can't wait to hit the race come July.

Good job Vale !!

Totally focused for 2012..? They are totally focused for 2011... Development is progressing now for the current bike as well, I think once they start using the newer engines this season, Rossi will not be picked off by Dovi, anymore... The Honda's will seem less and less magical as the season unfolds, as Rossi gets closer and closer to being on the top step of the rostrum...

2011 is far from over, and 2012 will come soon enough...

Say wha?.....are you talking about Rossi & laps times on new asphalt compared to 800cc lap times from last year on old asphalt.
that's the first time Rossi's tested the GP12 @ Mugello. so I think Rossi prob talking about the direction of the chassis & over feel of the bike...compared to the Jerez test.
I could be wrong

Did anyone notice that at he first test of the GP12 it appeared to have an alloy frame.

There was a close up 3/4 shot of the bike from the right rear, and there was no black "matting" to be seen.

Also "carbon fibre frame" and "GP12" have not been used together in the press releases.
If this is true, what a technological backwards step for Ducati! ...and maybe a great step forward for Rossi
