MotoGP » Stoner 'annoyed' as pole slips away

"We're confident with our race pace on hard tyres if the weather stays dry, it's just upsetting to have a qualifying session like this" – Casey Stoner.

Irony..

People who hate Stoner for complaining too much are the ones crying and bitching on this forum every time he opens his mouth.

Take off your skirts and cardigans off ladies. If you can't handle someone giving an honest assessment of their own performance, then don't listen. Don't come and cry here like a bunch of babies. Butt hurt ones at that, because no matter how much you abuse him, he is winning and your boy(girl) is a solid 5th or so!!! now that is a reason to celebrate!

For me he can say as much annoying comments as it's possible couse he is focused at least on his own job. No slagging others. When I see his riding style, passing the corners, I have no words. Even without any overtaki it's amazing just to watch his ride. Brilliant.

Bloody hell so he said he's disappointed to miss out on pole, so what?? Not surprising given he's led every previous session comfortably. You'd think he'd said the Queen was a terrorist or something the way the kids on this site go on.

CS's time did not measure up to his own expectations and rightly so as looking at times from Friday and FP3 sub 42s would have been expected for pole.
Main thing now is that the race setup is good and there is no contact between riders during those first few laps.

This is why I dislike Stoner and I like Rossi, Schwantz, or whoever has a positive outlook towards his effort. Rossi wouldn't say "I'm disappointed" if he got second in qualifying, he would 've said something like "We had a very good pace with the soft tyres and I was able to do a good time, unfortunately Simoncelli was able to do a slightly better time at the end. Anyway, we have a good pace for tomorrow and we will certainly be fighting to win".

Even if his words were totally different, there wouldn't be any "disappointments" or any other ridiculous claims. Why is Stoner "disappointed", does he perhaps think that starting 3 meters to the back is going to make any difference to his race chances?

The more I get to know Stoner the more I dislike the guy.

Go SuperSic, go Lorenzo, go Rossi go everyone else!

I don't know how Casey does it. Like most top-level sports people he's full of that anything-but-first-is-different-degrees-of-losing mentality but unlike, for example, Valentino he somehow manages to express it in the whiniest most p1ssy annoying way. Perhaps it's because whatever goes wrong it's never Casey's fault.

Or maybe it's because, as an Aussie, he's not a native English speaker and perhaps he just somehow chooses inappropriate words to express himself. When he blames the bike, he really means himself. When he blames the tyres, he really means himself.
When he blames other riders being in the way, well, I don't know...

Get Rossi or Simoncelli to give him some English lessons (he's obviously already been taking face-like-a-bulldog-licking-piss-off-a-nettle lessons from Lorenzo so a precedent has been set) and maybe less people would dislike his poxy moaning attitude.

Stoner set the pace from the moment they arrived at Catalunya to the last few minutes of qualifying and

I'm tipping someone from HRC would have already had a word to Marco re interfering with Stoner in anyway come the race.
Marco's job will be to get between Stoner at the front and Lorenzo.
There is a reason he is 8th in the champs and behind his non factory bike mounted teamate .

Stoner will win by 5-10 seconds and cruising.

Cheers.

Interesting thing is the QP times are slower this year than last. CS's QP time on the GP10 last year would have put him on pole this year.

JL is also slower.
