MotoGP » Stoner 'annoyed' as pole slips away

"We're confident with our race pace on hard tyres if the weather stays dry, it's just upsetting to have a qualifying session like this" – Casey Stoner.

@peter hess

Stoner is a bike racer, not an entertainer. A read what he had to say and still have know idea what the issue is. He put a soft tyre on and it didn't equate to faster times when the other riders were. Something obviously wasn't right. I expected him to drop into the 1.41's, so did the commentators and Stoner himself I would suspect. The guy isn't happy but most elite sports people rarely are when they don't reach their expectations.

Caseys attitude is the same as most elite sportsman he just says it as sees it .Colin Edwarards " second sucks"
Wayne Schwantz "second is the first loser " if they haven't got this attitude to there racing then they wont get there

It is comical reading all of you losers moaning about how he is moaning.
You keyboard heroes may be ok with being nobodies for the rest of your lives. Some people who are operating at the pinnacle of their chosen sport or career strive to be the best they can.

Anyone slagging off the talents of the top tier pilots in Motogp is beyond ridiculous, their accomplishments speak for themselves...

There is also nothing wrong with a competitor, not being satisfied with his performance when he thinks he can do better.

However, the difference between Stoner & Rossi, psychologically Stoner needs pole to confidently win, while Rossi can place eleventh or fourteenth on the grid and still win a race... Rossi just needs to be on the grid, second is merely a slight inconvenience....

At Last! - thanks to Yesmonster, we now know that Rossi hasn't been on the grid for the last five races. I was wondering why he hadn't been racking up them good 'ol relentless victories but now it is all clear. It's going to be awesome when he starts racing again.

I'd rather Casey be disappointed with not achieving what he thought he could , than just accepting second. He is very motivated to win, which makes him a great racer. I would also rather he speak his mind than some PR crap.

@Westminister

What series have you been watching for the past five seasons? I can understand you are a Rossi fan but your statements seem to be based on a different era of racing, not the one we are currently in.
