fantastic result for marco.did it the right way ,building up his pace every session and getting it spot on during would be great to see him get at least a podium tommorrow, which would hopefully kickstart his season.
his size isnt doing him many favours (slide saving long legs excepted ) ,especially on the high speed circuits, but come the 1000cc bikes next year it will be much less of a problem and give him the chance to challenge for the title,IF,and only IF ,he can put more thought into his racing.
being fast and craching every second week doesnt win championships as casey will testify to.

Jeez crash, this is not a "comeback to the criticism" in any way. The criticism never had anything to do with his qualifying results. Taking his first pole position is great for him and obviously the media is enjoying it immensely, but it's also not the "end to the controversy" as he himself proclaimed. The controversy is/was about his riding style against others and how he behaves in a race.

And if I remember correctly, the race is tomorrow, so we shall see.

Why is Simoncelli becomming more popular than Stoner and Lorenzo?

It is not because he is pals with Rossi

It is because he is a real and GENUINE (hear that Jorge?) "character", is supremely talented, has flair (+ big hair), not afraid to take risks (sometimes alas to the detriment of others), doesn't moan constantly (hear that Casey?) and is very cool. His treatment a few weeks ago, whilst harsh, has only added to his new fan base. Thanks god he's here 'cos when Rossi goes, he will be "the fan's" favourite world over no doubt. A naturally distinctive individual, just like Rossi!

Good for him, inevitable title contender for 2012 (assuming he gets promoted to Repsol although he's practically one right now riding that factory spec'ed gressini). Finish this race god-damn-it.
