interesting. no replacement makes it easier for stoner and jorge to dominate. also gives rossi, spies, dovi, simo, hayden a leg up. the others? well whatever.

would have loved to have seen hopkins on that honda!

It is probably because Dani is planning to come back in Assen. And it wouldn make any sense for HRC because only two riders gather points for the constructors championship. So no need for replacement really.

I think the main reason for keeping Dani's bike under cover is to limit the number of Km's his engine does.

If Dani was out for 2 months, Dorna would push HRC to replace him for the missing races.

Then we would end up with the same farce as last year when Yamaha brought in some Factory muppet to replace Rossi and putt round keeping his engine fresh for later in the year.

I hate this 6 engine rule

nailed it "monster"

usually the wild card rides serve no purpose other than possibly to test new parts. It too expensive and miles on the engine is not good.

That Honda is perfectly dialed and unbeatable in the dry.. leave it cold until Dani returns. He'll be back on the box right away.

They may not replace Pedrosa, or temporarily bump up Aoyama to Repsol, but they should at least let Aoyama have all the upgrades Pedrosa would have received minus the engines... If the have not already...

Smart move by Dani firstly,to sit it out and secondly by HRC to run with 3 factory machines...#4,27 & 58.
@ monster,absolutely spot on.
Why waste Dani's allocation of engines on someone who may bring them 10 points in the constructors and possibly trash one ?
So the grid is smaller than hoped, for Silverstone.
So what !!! I'll be glued to the box Sunday for 125, Moto 2 and GP :)

So the so called "pinnacle of motorcycle sport" rolls-up at Silverstone for the British GP with a massive 15/16 riders & that includes Edwards(if passed fit!)
Frankly it's just a joke & shows how elitist the Motogp class has become.

If any team had less to worry about engine allocation it's Honda. The problem is really there are no possible substitutes that could come in and exploit the factory Honda to any advantage. I suspect they see Marquez as the next in the succession, displacing Dovi who isn't getting it done, so there is no logical reason for a sub. other than contractual as Yam had to comply with bringing in a tester in a futile gesture.
