MotoGP » Pedrosa: Simoncelli threw my championship away

"Somebody threw my championship away. It's hard to swallow, but it's something I have to accept" – Dani Pedrosa.

I feel for the little guy, could be the end of him, I can't see him handling a 1000cc bike next year.

He put up a good fight for the corner and came off second best. He braked as hard as he could for the corner but with the back wheel bouncing around in the air, it looked as though he left it a little too late. Didn't deserve a smashed up body though.
I know Simmo held his hand up for the incident but I bet in hindsight Dani wishes he hadn't left his braking so late. It never was his strong point.
Ironically if he had left his braking a fraction later he would have pushed Simmo out of the way like George does.

what a load of Crafff.
Sic did pass him at the wrong time But you cant blame others for your fortunes.
if he is such good rider like he thinks he is he should have been the wise one and back off at that point or stick to his line and give Sic the bad side of the stick, but never back of at mid corner when your on the edge of grip and control.
and if you wanna blame someone blame your fragile porcelain bones that brake so often.
good luck get fit soon and be a man about it!!!

With his definition of a 'championship' being 'the end result of riders circulating safely around a circuit and staying in the correct order as defined by their starting position'. My definition has more to do with riders passing each other in any way they can.

Sorry Dani, it was not all Simoncelli's fault. Learn from this that you shouldn't race when you cannot control a bike under braking. Its not the first season when your chance of a championship was lost through you being injured, get over it and get fully fit.

There are plenty of rounds left. Although he is behind the eight ball right now, Dani needs to stay positive and believe he is still in with a chance. There can be no guarantees his rivals won't have a few mishaps as the season unfolds (ala Casey at the hands of Valentino). It is quite disappointing he seems to have psychologically thrown in the towel.

Take a leaf out of Vettel's book. He had a number of DNF's through mechanical failure whilst leading F1 GP's last year. He kept believing. The only time he actually led the championship was after the last race of the season.
