Guys be realistic. In any motor racing championship there are realistically only a few teams/riders/drivers capable of winning races regularly. Nobody expects the CRT teams to win but they'll probably be closer than most of the field was back in the 500 days, where Doohan would regularly lap half the field! That misses the point anyway, it will be fascinating to see the CRT teams do battle and see if any of them can actually take a factory scalp occasionally. At the end of the day a fuller grid will be excellent nd the extra variety of machine very interesting.

Exactly elton.

From the beginning of GPs there has always and will always be only a few who have a shot at winning. Adding teams is for the people in the stands to see action throughout the field and for riders maybe make an impression to be graduated up to a better team.

Surprised to not see Simoncelli's name on that list? I honestly think he deserves Dovi's spot but does he want to be third chair to Stoner and Dani on that snake pit Repsol squad? He seems to be fairing alright on the Gresini but how long can they afford him? Some people are going to have to filter out of MotoGP to allow the Bradl's, Marques's etc a place to grow! Still nothing from Suzuki either. Could 2011 be the twilight for a long and storied GP run by them? Will Paris Hilton swoop in and save MotoGP?

It's sad to see only 3 real factory efforts in MotoGP. Suzuki's effort doesn't really count anymore. When was the last time they were relevant? Kawasaki gone. Aprilia gone. KTM gone. BMW never been. I do feel for the satellite guys too. They roll around hoping to show they deserve better equipment to have a chance at winning. It's sad really. The last satellite winner was Elias and he no looks really sad. He never got the good stuff, but still manage a win. Seems like there has to be a better way otherwise we'll keep talking about the aliens until another Doohan/Rossi dominant rider comes along. Then we'll be talking about all the other riders as also rans. Biaggi, cough, cough, Biaggi.

Nicky is the PR powerhouse for Ducati. Or PR lapdog, whichever you prefer.

He does EVERY PR event Ducati has. Seriously, he is everywhere.

Rossi wouldn't show up to a PR event if his life depended on it.

@ asefi, Valentino Rossi attends load of PR events!! Look at the recent Ducati show in Italy - thousands turned up just to see Valentino. VR knows the value of PR, but apart from that, he is a guy that knows the value of his fans and he gives his fans a lot of consideration and time !!

Simo is a Honda factory rider contracted to HRC and is on the same bike as the Repsol guys. Dovi is only on a 3rd bike because his contract dictated specific 2010 results would guarantee a 2011 ride. I don't expect Repsol to run 3 bikes next year but Simo will continue to get identical treatment to Stoner and Pedrosa if he gets his act together.
