A little history and perspective:
In 2002 Colin Edwards was losing the championship. Fact. He'd come second to Troy Bayliss at nearly every venue visited until the 2nd race at Laguna Seca. Colin came back and won every single race from then to the end of the season to take the title over Bayliss. Fact.
Is Colin the the G.O.A.T.? He gave that title to Rossi.
Could Rossi come back and win in the same fashion as Colin did? One would have to assume that he could. After all, he was given the GOAT title by the rider who pulled off the greatest come back in the history of WSBK. What was it that Colin found at Laguna? Oh, yeah, the Honda was too rigid and removing a couple of engine mount bolts allowed more flex. Simple. Rossi and CO. could find something similar and we're not even half way through yet.

Anybody else think that if things don't improve with Ducati/Rossi towards the end of the season, we may actually see a "agreed separation" between the two, before next season starts?

I've been a Rossi fan for a long time, but it's sad to see him struggling to get any doest results out of that Ducati.
That bike either doesn't suit Rossi's style of riding or Rossi's got mind problems going on at the moment (maybe to scared to push it in fear of dumping it again).

Fair play to Stoner, gone up in my estimation after that ride.

Pigbristle - Think man. There is no factory he could go to. Suzuki is most likely retiring from MotoGP. The 2012 Duc will be good.

Mind problems? Just a week ago he was perfectly fine. He had struggles in the past, he is cool, he has no mind problems.

The setup can suck that bad.

6 races 4 wins for Stoner, Yamaha in trouble, good in qualifying bad in race, Stoner looks like the guy who is going to break all the records in a single season! It will be hard for Lorenzo to catch up in Stoner coz soon Pedrosa will be back and he will be fighting with 4 factory hondas!

Stoner is fabulous, he beats them in wet, dry, dirty, and unpredictable weather condition. He is great, the new motogp legend in the making!

The Ducati is a great bike just not for everyone. Stoner clearly was fast on it, and probably faster than he is on a Honda this year... Hayden seems to get along with it well. Sure Rossi is struggling to understand the Ducati, but Rossi races better than he qualifies, in time it will all pan out...

Rossi doesn't need to be on a Honda to beat Stoner, he can do it on the Yamaha or Suzuki just the same... But when Stoner on a Ducati are in sync, they are hard to beat...

As for Lorenzo, last year was a gift. Rossi's injuries, and Stoners mistakes, made him the obvious beneficiary of the championship. Pedrosa would have made it interesting, but Lorenzo would have still won regardless if he were healthy too...

TY46 - No place for him at this moment in time, but as you know, anything can happen in motogp.

Talking of riders jobs, does anybody have information about Pedrosa?
Apparently some are saying he's had another accident outside of racing, Honda won't be to happy with that
