"They had to start somewhere after Stoner had taken that bike into a dead-end and I think the starting point was based on a bit more than conversation."

I find it funny how everyone is so quick to point the finger at Stoner and say he took the bike into a "dead-end". In all truthfulness he didn't take the bike anywhere - Ducati didn't have the money to go anywhere and never really did anything with the bike. "There were a lot of different things we asked for which they just couldn't do, things I asked for, my technicians, everybody," Stoner said in the press conference, "But we knew they were trying as hard as they could but without the resources, this is all they could come up with." Read the rest on motomatters article "2011 MotoGP Assen Wednesday Round Up: The Ducati GP11.1, Or Rossi vs Stoner"

And yes the starting point was based on a bit more then conversation - it was based on what Preziosi experience (whatever that's worth) and what he thought should be done - a designer's job

They should sell heaps of Ducati's to the discerning buyer with these sorts of public promotions.

Ducati are like the Colonel Klink and Shultz of the Motogp world.

Stunning pace from Marco today to take his 2nd pole this year but he has to capitalise on it tommorrow, not throw his hard work in the kitty litter again!
Great to see Ben on the front row alongside Casey who wasnt looking quite himself out there it has to be said.Jorge still in touch on the second row so he is in pretty good shape too.Well done to Cal though, bloody marvelous effort!
Val,well i dont know what to think any more. The Ducati garage must be in turmoil at the moment.Things can only get better, and i hope they do,very soon!

@me, haha, your such a long way away! Perhaps some Aussie attitude towards motorcycles and sport in general in the uk would help some of the great British talent break onto the world stage?
