Quote: Don't bring Rossi and Ducati onto a Spies thread

Errrrr, its a thread on the RACE, not on Ben Spies I thought. It was the thread on the race report so that seemed to be a logical conclusion to me.

Race is race and crashes happen so it's all fair to all top 5 to finish on that positions but at the other hand in realistic performance Rossi is 6th in Assen so he is still fight to even enter the top 5 'alien's' room.

Simoncelli doesn't learn. He's going to have a bad time finding a quality ride next season.
Great ride by Ben. The only one that could have fought it with him today was Lorenzo but Marco took care of that. Well deserved win nonetheless.
Stoner, as usual, when he starts a weekend with issues on the bike can't work them out. If not for Simoncelli's mistake, he'd be out of the podium and leading the championship by just a slim marging. He got luckiest today.
Lorenzo rode with a lot of heart after the crash. Had he got half a lap more to go he'd have overtaken Hayden too. Very sad to see his championship hopes set back by Simoncelli's mindlessness, but's that's the sport.
Rossi, as usual this season, his result looks good until you check how many seconds behind the winner he ended.
It is appaling how some of you here, supposed Spies' fans, are laughing at Lorenzo's misfortune. Where have you been hiding since preseason testing, though? You are almost as miserable as the Yellow Tide. You fo

So those Red and White colors ARE good for a few seconds a lap, huh? lol

Great job Benny! We knew you could do it!!!!

You dominated the race and looked sharp and controlled while doing it.

lorenzo had to push the hardest today to pick up the points - once casey dropped dovi, and spies started to managed the gap between him and stoner, was when lorenzos pace started to be quicker than the front runners

Great ride by Spies - a class apart. But that race was as dull as. This season, to be honest, is becoming a big turn off.

No bikes on the track. Today there weren't even any battles... anywhere! Not even the guys at the back. And to have three or four riders lapped is a disgrace. Dorna need to sort something out.

As for Sic/Lorenzo... it was plain unfortunate. Sic was pushing too hard on cold tyres and got it wrong. Jorge was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I said it yesterday that he looks set to win.. And on the classic livery, his first ever motogp victory looked amazing...

Simo did his job.. LOL... But it was sad that he took the championship contender.. Now the championship fight looks even drab.. But excellent ride by Lorenzo after the fall..

Even if the race was a bit processional, it was not so boring..

@ Drum, lemme help you out. When a rider gets that first GP win monkey off his back,my observation is that they generally go from strength to strength.
Witness Marquez and Vinales wins in 125 and Moto 2.
Knowing they can actually do it gives the mind a HUGE confidence boost which translates all the way to the rubber on the surface.
When it sinks in I suspect Ben will realise that only he and Bayliss have made the SBK switch and won.
Ben is relatively young. When Troy did it he was about 34 or so. Very special moment for Ben.
Remember last year when he said his objective was to step up and win a GP race for Yamaha.
Well, he just did and I loved it !!!!! :)

@Rawdawg, Southerner and others: let me clarify that when I criticize some of Spies' fans, I don't mean the ones that have a brain, like you do. Every rider has a number of idi0t hooligans following, and with Ben's mayden victory his seem to be resurfacing after they disappeared in Qatar. Ben rode a great race, and let's hope this is the sign of things changing for the better at his side of the garage. I'm really looking forward to a race where he and Jorge fight one-on-one for the victory. It should be epic because both are very talented overtakers.
