I have never been one to back the bodyweight theory myself.I know alot of people like to claim that light weight riders have a huge advantage but i just dont go for it.If light weight is such an advantage, why doesnt Dani win every race?
He should have won a few World Championships by now if his weight is such an issue. But he hasnt!
In fact i would say it can be a distinct dis advantage in certain situations, especially getting weight over the front end and during heavy braking.

Don't bring Rossi and Ducati onto a Spies thread

Then why did you ?

Anyway, the only valid "IF's", would be (1) If Pedrosa was actually racing, then the results might have looked different for a lot of people... Crashing is part of racing, so get over it...

Spies was long over due for a win, now (2) If he can steadily make the rostrum, then I would say he has finally arrived to the status where he belongs... He is also by far the best American talent in a great long while...

Now for the obvious, (3) If Rossi were still with Yamaha, he would more than likely be leading the series...

Hoppy! you know like anyone else! Its why Dani often gets to the first corner 1st. Its that power to weight ratio thing! After that its pretty much down to Rider set up and skill! NOT BODYWEIGHT!

Let's be honest, more bikes on the grid does not mean that there will be more close racing at the front, it only means there will be more close racing bring up the end of the pack... If Kawasaki and Suzuki cannot compete at the front, what makes anyone think a CRT team will...

Let's get a few more consistent wins out of Spies first...

Powerismo? With the much warmer temperatures expected next week at Mugello! what advice could you give the riders? Go on a Crash Diet? Or don't stop eating? Who shouldn't bother turning up? Little Dani or BIG MARCO???

crash has the most resident armchair champions ever... its give and take, if you are small you obviously have better power to weight but if you are a bigger stronger guy like spies, hayden, depuniet then you can throw the bike around more and fight any troubles better... its a trade off, always has been this way always will be unless they put a minimum weight for bike and rider together.

the reason danny makes it to the corner first has more to do with honda power and him always starting in the front two rows and being a damn good rider nt just cuz he is a little guy... being little does make you more fragile as danny has demonstrated year after year... poor guy

Never mind how heavy or light every rider is, why don't tech 3, or all Honda riders get factory bikes so there's closer racing at the front with a limited field of riders?

As this is a Spies thread, nice to see a rider that's come through superbikes winning a motogp race. Unfortunately, he's nearly as exciting to listen to as the race action.
