The only difference between Rossi and Lorenzo guiding the engineers on how to develop the Yamaha, is in which accent they say "I need more power"

re: "If Lorenzo and Spies has the pace in qualifying and Race, maybe they have already introduced the Gear Shift mechanism..."

too risky. while cases on the M1 are known to be machined billet (theoretically quicker to turnaround than casting), new tool paths would have to be programmed. cake for boffins, however new cases would likely NOT fit in the chassis which would dictate mods to the frame, swinger, etc. any major mods that far in the center of a vehicle with dimensions as tightly controlled/toleranced as a motogp bike has a "domino effect". this would surely rubbish all the sweet setup data (read expensive) gleaned from the rossi years. ZS it's not a quick fix like "bolting a turbo" to a civic. it would need development time to perfect. the "overnite success" we're witnessing from honda was actually 2-4 years in the making.

re: "Well it is the answer to what not to do if u wanna win. They need to scrap that idea and make a normal frame. There putting pride first, that's a recipe for failure"

the wise mans says, don't give up 5 mins before your miracle...

Once again it looks like we can have a great race, hopefully weather and aggressive riders don't prevent it from finally happening.

With the many chassis iterations for Ducati this year, softening the frame to add flex you have to wonder if the road they are going down is the right one. I remember the great Bayless/Edwards WSBK battle and Colin dominated the 2nd half of the season. He attributed the improvement to removing one of the engine bolts from the frame to give the bike more flex. The setup overcame a stiff chassis and an engineering flaw.

Development is by engineers
Setup is riders and teams

When is Rossi and JB going to work on setting up the Ducati to get the most from the package? Having previous data, fresh motors, home crowd this should be there best chance and Hayden is still faster on the cast off chassis.
