Friday Moto2 practice
1. Marquez (Suter) 1m 53.241s

11. Mika Kallio FIN Marc VDS Racing Team 1m 54.063s (29)

No wonder they are reconsidering decision about building their own bike. CRT bikes are gonna be a total disaster, even worse than the new teams that came to F1...

VDS BMW laptime means nothing right now as it's first run around official teams, it's completely new mixture of engine frame and suspension without previous data collected. This will be more clear at the last test or first next year. I guess this idea will turn us back to gp500cc times a little. Lot's of bikes on the grid but win exchanging between same 5~6 riders while winning a midpack fight will be a real challenge for CRT.

From MCN article Marc VDS nearing 2012 decision

The Marc VDS Racing squad tested its new bike, which has a Swiss-built Suter chassis, at Mugello recently at the same time Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden were evaluating Ducati's new prototype GP12. Although no lap times were released, the gap was reportedly huge, and Bartholemy is now worried that the multi-million pound investment needed to make a new bike competitive will be for nothing.

Bartholemy said: "If I have to fill up the grid or be last every weekend then this has no meaning for me. We have now seen how the new Ducati works and I think they have built an impressive machine. The gap was quite a gap. We have been on track since the middle of November and test two times a month, spending a lot of money, but still there is quite a big gap."

Points being: "on track since the middle of November and test two times a month"

You sure it's a new chassis & engine configuration?

8. Aoyama (Honda ) 1'49.724 (giri 39/69)

9. Bautista (Suzuki) 1'49.789 (giri 26/61)

10. Guintoli (Ducati) 1'52.398 (giri 30/56)

11. Kallio (Suter-BMW) 1'53.668 (35/42)

suter improved 2 secs from the morning. it´s 4 secs slower then clienthonda Aoyama and only 1 sec from Ducati with Guintolin.

My thought: a really fast rider (which Kallio is not) with a bit more effort could have matched the honda.

second thought: unfortunatly they´re never going to make it for next year....

next year I´m going to spend more time birdwatching more then wasting time on Motojoke1

so sad what Dorna has done to this sport

RIP 125 and Motogp
