MotoGP » Mick Doohan tests V8 Supercar

“I struggle with four wheels, let alone two, so there's absolutely no way I'd ever ride a Grand Prix bike. I'd get on the back of a bike with Mick, but as far as riding a GP bike myself... NO!” - V8 Supercar champion James Courtney.

It would be great to see Mick Doohan, Wayne Garner, Matt Maladin, Chad Reed, Jason Crump, Troy Baylis and Troy Corser all battle it out at Phillip Island in V8s. There would be more than just the odd bit of paint swapping.

And Mal it would have to be more interesting than the procession that V8s have become. I think that would be an excellent format where they get drivers and riders together and race say Fujitsu cup cars and then hop on sport proddie 1000s for a bike race. Combined best times wins...

Ausrossi, don't know if you are watching the same races. Did you watch Townsville, that was great. Gotta say though, I like your idea. Even if just as a bit of a PR stunt before Aus. MotoGP. As for Mick, bloody legend.

how on earth does he manage the brake and brake/clutch action? His foot does not work!

What a legend.

that helmet still looks good...

I wonder if he used a thumb brake... (ok only joking)

If you don't find the article interesting then don't read it. The only waste of pixels are your stupid comments. As a Mick Doohan and V8 Supercar fan I found the article interesting.

Yip me to. Credit people to enjoy articles enough to read them and if your not interested either don't read them or keep your negative comments away from here. We ALL know where your interests lie mate so why not simply spend your time on his websites.
Great to hear Mick is still around MotoGP and keeping his hand in here and there around the tracks when he gets the opportunity. It was an incredible sight I'm sure and experience for everyone there when the MotoGP guys all took to the TT circuit for a lap earlier this year.

Yeah I heard Townsville was good, so maybe I should rethink, I have young kids so I see more Dora than I do V8 Supercars. Though the plot twists on Dora the Explorer get me everytime. As for Mick, I think he actually looks a lot healthier than he did when he was racing. I notice Mick still gets on a bike does Beattie?
