"...instead even Bautista passed me on the straight" - Valentino Rossi.

I've been away for the weekend so I've got some catching up to do. I,ve just watched the race and I can't see that Rossi had a bad race.
From his lowly qually finish he caught and passed all of them including Alvaro (brilliant performance btw). Unfortunately he couldn't maintain it and it was obvious that his bike wouldn't allow him to 'fight' for his position.
My interest is in Ducati's progression (or lack of) and, good as it was, Nicky's ride showed they've gone backward.

@pauly73:are u a journalist or work for crash?bcoz what u say is pure bull$hit.gp11 was designed in 2010 but after your "great development"rider rode gp12 and felt very positive and issued statements that we already have a good feeling about this, vitto has crossed next years chasis with destorked engine, even rossi admitted it was their collectivize plan to do,yet u are spreading bs that rossi had nothin to do with gp11.1?say if you are correct didnt ducati team say the only commen things in gp11&11.1are forks, tyres and brakes every thing else is new?and rossi had confirmed that vitto created gp11.1 bcoz he felt better on gp12

And this is where the big worry is. At the test on the Monday after Mugello, Casey Stoner ran a lap of 1'47.326. Hayden confessed earlier during the week that the Ducatis weren't doing 1'47.3s when they tested the 1000 at Mugello, and given the fact that Ducati believe that a 1000cc bike will be half a second quicker round the Italian circuit than an 800, Honda's dominance looks to be guaranteed into 2012. Paddock rumor - times from the 1000cc test are jealously guarded, though everyone seems to know them - suggests that Casey Stoner was two seconds quicker on the 1000 than he was during the race weekend earlier in the year.

Rossi had a bad race, he was supposed to at least finish the best of the rest behind the factory Hondas and Yamahas yet he didn't do that. It's his worst finish of the year.

Depressing race!
I am surprised the whole team are not on suicide watch.
Ducati are washed up.Stoner made the best decision of his life giving them the flick!
If Valentino has a season next year that is anything like this bad,he will either give them the flick too or retire. One or the other.
