Yeah Boz is passed his best days, like when he did the double at Brands but he has the experience to handle a tough assignment:learn the 'Stones and carbon brakes pronto. Certainly not for a kid like J.D.Beach! He really stands to lose more than he could possibility gain. But he is a racer!

Dean Dean is right. This is not about giving BBoz "a shot" at a MotoGP career. He's always been fast on that track, he's a local Cali guy and like it was stated, there is an existing business relationship between LCR and MJM. (the last part would have prevented a Cardenas to even be considered). Lastly, it might be easy to forget how crazy huge Ben was in Europe for many years, specifically in Italy. Yeah, that was a while back for sure, but doesn't hurt.

JD Beach...? Really? He crushed 'em on a 600, but has yet to come to terms with serious Superbike++ power. I hope he does well, but talk about throwing somebody in the deep end of the pool.

I think some of you are forgetting BBoz beat the reigning AMA Superbike champ there last year. If you can win in the AMA you can win anywhere. Not to mention He is truly a specialist at Laguna. Not saying he will win, but he will beat Elias if he keeps it on two wheels.

Moneee's not the brightest bulb

1. Rea didn't help develop anything, they let him throw a leg over the bike that's it.

2. Rea is no where near Spies level. That's why Rea is where he is and Ben is on the Factory Yamaha MotoGP Team.

3. If they did give the wild card to Rea how exactly would that help LCR in publicity and marketing in the States???

Take the blinders off son

Shoot, I was hoping for DuHamel again, , ,

Ben knows this track like the back of his hand up a woman's shirt. He'll play it cool - since he'll be starting from the back anyway. After Simo takes out himself and someone else, that'll put Ben in the points! Figure about 1/2 race distance he'll get things figured out, then Bam! he'll probably pass 2 people. So look for Ben to finish around 12th.

Good for him, a nice reward for making it to his twilight.

Johnny Rea didn't develop the bike but i would say he's nearly up there in the Spies league... The Honda's been the dog of wsbk for a good while now and Honda recognise they've got a world class rider in Rea, that's why he's done the tests. He'll be in MotoGP in a couple of years time.
Don't forget that Laguna is a track that DEMANDS local knowledge and no-one knows it better than Bostrom... No-one in AMA would be better for the ride considering LCR don't want an expensive rebuild or a lost engine...
