Why all the excitement just another american with rich sponsor buying a ride if someone turned up with another 50 grand bostrum would be droped like a hot turd

yeah, what wr86 wrote. it's in an article with the same title over at MCN. other than Hopper, there isn't really anyone else available (without contractual obligations) who could ride the bike. And don't even start with the give it to Johnny Rea garbage. He's still recovering from injury and wouldn't be able to give it the stick anyway. So, that leaves painfully few riders out there with good track knowledge AND commercial viability to generate local and national interest. Like I wrote before, Bostrom is the most logical choice for the ride given who is available.

If any American deserves a ride at Laguna it's Josh Hayes. Has more than put his dues in but never had a chance at Moto GP because of his age. Of course he doesn't have the money/connections as Jordan to get this one/off but I don't believe any other AMA racer would do better than him this week. Ps: I'm not a Hayes fan.
