You can stop someone crashing, but you cant make someone natually quick. Sic is QUICK, we all know that, so once he learns to keep it under control he will be a force to be reckoned with! He will get there, just like Lorenzo and Stoner have.

Make no mistake, Sic clearly has the most potential out of best of the rest (Spies, Dovi, Sic).

Oh and yes Marco has had 4 DNF's this season, Spies has had 3 DNF's too. Dovi is clearly the most consistent out of the 3. Sic just needs to get some solid points under his belt and a few impressive results before the seasons end to show his worth. He will get there, but he needs the results NOW, otherwise it might be difficult to justify him keeping the factory seat over Dovi.

from all accounts honda will only run two factory spec bikes from next year so sic has no chance of keeping his factory seat, nor has dovi, as neither has a contract for 2012 whereas dani and stacey do. Not sure about nicky but unless suzuki put another bike out the ducati, if nicky is out of contract, is the only factory team I can see him being in. Though I wouldn't bet against honda leaving the factory support with him on a one year do or die contract just yet.

Why do you think he'll adapt and be on the podium anytime soon?

History paints a different picture with Marco:

4 years to get a win in the 125's

3 years to get a win in the 250's

Same age as Pedrosa, Stoner & Lorenzo

Has not gained a podium in 28 races, I would suggest you look at the other aliens initial 28 races and compare.

He can do no more than flyers, he has zero racecraft and resorts to biff and barge as his only fallback and completely lacks concentration over race distance which is why he has a best finish of 5th.

Honda has to keep Dovi over this guy....heck Aoyumi is in front of him on points on a sat. Honda.

No, I think you've made a mistake.

How can the guy who doesn't have a podium who is on a factory bike for his 2nd year and can't use the excuse of not knowing the tracks because he came up in the GP paddock, have more potential than the guy who already has a win and multiple podiums??

Spies mental toughness will find a way to beat Simo every time. Spies beat him last year. He will beat him this year as well. Simo looks to be off a factory Honda next year and if so he doesn't have a chance of beating Spies if that happens.

@midders

There was talk of Malboro putting up the money for a 3rd factory Ducati. Hayden has a contract and will be there.

If Simo can't podium the Honda, I can't see him being a threat on the Ducati.

Simo has taken his opportunity on a factory ride and pissed it away. If he is on a factory spec bike next year there is no justice in racing.

I don't believe he has the ability to change either, which makes it worse.

Agree with that rawdog, can't see him being on the podium with ducati, but would be fun to see him try. Didn't think he had factory spec last year?

To fan, who do you think should be given a factory ride over simo? Hiroshi? Cal? Elias? RdP?
