The season started quite promising for Cal but it has all gone pear shaped lately.Very disappointed for him.His frustration is starting to show.

When I wrote in Friday that Cal will not finished the race, I got bunch of desagrees. Well, I was right and my prediction is that Cal will not gather more than 25 points until end of season.

Things have gone from bad, to worst, to just sad now. Since Simo just got his podium Cal is the only guy that can qualify well but hasn't got any results yet. The best thing to happen to Cal this weekend is Karel's engine letting go so he didn't increase his ROTY lead over Cal

But don't worry Cal - Just keep doing what you are doing because your Crash fans guarantee your place in MotoGP after next year. They raked me over the coals last week for saying that you need to start bringing in good results to continue in MotoGP after next season because they think you are doing just fine barely out of last place in the points and getting beat by guys who are going to get fired this year.

Cal needs to kiss his manager/handlers for getting him a 2 year deal because he doesn't have a result yet that says he deserves to keep his place. I wouldn't be surprise if Herve is looking to wiggle out of the contract and dump him for Bradl who Herve has shown interest in.

I have to agree one gear.

Herve is starting to sound exactly the same as in 2009 with JT. The comments of adapting your riding style to the bike and he doesn't feel confident for "some reason" seem to be exact quotes from 2009.

I really feel Cal is capable of making the transition to GP but I worry if he loses any more confidence the team might start to give up on him.

Which leads us again to ask, will Herve think it wise to let Edwards go next year? With the arrival of a new bike and Cal struggling to solve his front end issues will Tech 3 really want to sign another rookie??

@wr86

Motomatters reported last week that Colin's future lays in the hands of Yamaha Japan.

"Colin Edwards' future is deeply uncertain, but much of the doubt surrounds the 2012 MotoGP machine. Edwards is likely to be asked to stay on for next season, and given a lead role in developing the new 1000cc bike for next year. That, however, would probably have to come out of Yamaha Japan's pocket rather than Poncharal's". If I'm not mistaken, Yamaha US kicked in some money to Tech 3 for Colin this year.

Even though it looks like Colin will be top satellite bike and has EARN his place next year, I would rather him go to WSBK and fight for wins and another title. The article also says RDP has a shot at the Tech 3 ride. Being French you would think it would be a good fit.

Cal is just not living up to expectations.
I get the feeling that Tech 3 and Yamaha want Bradl.Yamaha need someone who will match Honda's Marquez when he comes up to the big class.
You get the feeling that next year Bradl and Edwards will be Tech 3 riders with Bradley Smith replacing Colin the year after.
