Very encouraging initial result for Yamaha going into 2012. I was a bit worried Honda may start off with an advantage, but Yamaha has clearly gone about things the right way... that is to say they haven't changed a thing, just added 200cc's :)

Good to see Cal Crutchlow is finally getting some valuable test time outside of a race weekend. Considering how difficult these things are to ride/understand its too much to expect rookies to pick it up as they go along...Simoncelli suffered the same last season up until he got some decent test time at this stage then his results improved dramatically....not the same level of equipment I know, but I hope Cal ends up with a better understanding of his bike and his results/finishes improve without feeling obliged to ride beyond a limit that it seems is not very clear at the mo.

Little Dani doesn't seem to enjoy the big bikes as much as his made to order 800cc job. Glad to see Ben only fractionally behind the other little rockets.

PP916, agree with your comments and once Cal gets a bit of luck I think he will show what he is made of and will move up through the field .He has the ability and just needs the component parts to click together , a little bit of luck and he will be there !

Mikka Kallio 4 seconds off the pace on the Suter BMW.
I can't see how he, Scott Redding or Marc VDS will be able to bridge that gap when they can't even develop their Moto2 bikes?

These bikes will be awesome next season, Elias went much quicker than his best time over the weekend, hopefully he's found something... hopefully Ducati have found some improvements too.

Interesting enough, Lorenzo set the best time on a colder track than both Spies and Stoner. Good to see he doesn't have trouble adapting to the new bike, and good to see Yamaha are not behind Honda so far with the 2012 bike. After they delayed their testing so long many were beginning to worry... Now let's hope the new 800 engine gives Lorenzo the necessary edge to take some wins from Stoner who, at the moment, looks comfortably on his way to his first title with the mighty Honda.

this stuff is boring...seeing casey's time hasnt changed since morning, you cant say anything about how much to expect, etc.

same goes for rossi...no one can say what ducati improved if they did improve in the end

just waiting for the post test rider's comments
