"So if 'Ben is smart enough to not need team orders', 'like he showed lasr round', then luckily for Spies that Fabrizio is not so smart. If Fabrizio would have been a bit smarter, then Spies would have never won his WSB title."

"So luckily for Spies, Ducati/Fabrizio had no team orders in 2009. If they did, then Spies would not be a world champion."

It was a such a lucky year for Spies in 09 , torpedoed by Fab's ,mechanical dnf's and running out of fuel in Monza . Especially with all the experience he has on those tracks .

TBH if Ben get's the front row and then starts to run away with it then i see no reason for him to yield unless J-Lo is right behind him. No point in him slowing right up once out there and i think he might just do it.
If it goes the other way with the top 4-6 duking it out then Ben won't need to be told to support his team mate as i think he's a guy with intelligence and character and would want to do it for the team and ultimately for himself too as it wouldn't do him any harm with Yamaha when it comes to the future.

and @ Pituk,

Too right, Nori lost some big points with the broken arm etc and Ben lost a fair few in other ways. As gutted as i was for Nori, Ben won that fair and square...apart from Nori, Ben made most of the rest look pretty ordinary given his lack of track knowledge.

Wish him well for the weekend despite him taking yet another title from Nori's grasp lol :)

pituk, yes theres ifs and buts for both riders, like haga's injury, hitting a bird at 180mph, and being torpedo'd by rea. See what i mean now?

The fact is that if Ducati had team orders, Spies would not be champion. Ducati team orders would have made them a fortune by winning the title. Fabrizio took 10 points off his team mate, so there was certainly no team orders there, or if there was, Fabrizio clearly ignored them. Either way you look at it, the fact there they were no team orders in the ducati garage meant that Spies was champion instead of Haga. Thats not opinion, its a fact. Go on then Spies fans, hit that disagree button even though you know im right hahaha! LOL!

Soneone call Trigger a Doctor cause his medication is not working.
Spies won half the races and 80% of the poles in 2009.
If Biaggi hadn't bobbled 2nd corner Phillip Island...
If he hadn't run out of gas at Monza.....
If he hadn't crashed at Valencia and Assen.....

...he might have won the title by the largest margin ever.

Sorry for Haga though. What a great rider.....

Btw at Brno, if Spies didn't put himself between Lorenzo and Rossi, Rossi will having a go at Lorenzo on an instant. With soft front getting worn out, it give an extra pressure to Lorenzo losing more c'ship points.

Since one of the function of a teammate is become a sidekick when needed, Spies place an illusion to Rossi attempt to go further when there was a couple of Yamaha in front of him. Rossi wouldn't take that much risk with his front-end to battle Spies to get to Lorenzo. Sometimes spontaneous team order work hand in hand with the race strategy.

In a different situation, Spies might get through Lorenzo fight Simoncelli for podium. Spies has better chances get the 3rd over Simoncelli and probably bring home more points for the team and manufacture. The situation is where Lorenzo problem is not by tyre but by rider problem.

But I vote Spies got for the podium instead and Lorenzo should taste the similar difficulty that Stoner losing his position to Dovi at Mugello. So, if he w
