"In the end, I salvaged third row, if you can call it that. We've got a lot of homework to do tonight, but hopefully we can come up with something" - Nicky Hayden.

Every season of the 800s its been apparent that if you remove Stoner from the Ducati equation their results are dismal. Now he really is no longer there and their results really are dismal, yet some people are still surprised.

Normally dont reply to these comments but in this case - Rossi was well down the order already (possibly last) and obviously pushing when he lost his first bike. To say he was quick from the start on that bike is pure cr@p. He hasnt looked comfortable all weekend.

Nope that's not true. He wasn't last. He was with in top 5 and it was only 5-10 minutes into the QP. I am not saying he was setting things on fire, I am just saying get your facts right!

Wasn't Hayden EXCITED a couple of stories back?????

Isn't he perpetully EXCITED??????

Why so glum?...did you honestly expect better than 8th?
Did you honestly think you'd be on the front row challenging for a win?

Seriously deluded this boy.

He'll be excited next race....just watch.

There only surprised Stavros because they can't accept that Rossi isn't the best rider in the world.

They have no intimate knowledge of facts or figures to work out what Stoner rode around problems with supreme skill to get the results he did at Ducati.

They have reverted to:

* The Honda and Yamaha have stolen a development march on them, (Blatantly false if you check last years times to this years times)

* The Ducati bike is at fault, (Again flawed logic to call a bike that won 3 races last year a dog...simply untapped potential) Times by Stoner's gp10 gets wins and podiums this year...again flawed logic.

Is Rossi mentally strong?.....not judging by this season he's not. He has even resorted to his impartial ratings system of the other riders with derogatory comments attached.

They just treat him like a leper accordingly.

I can accept that the Ducati was never a dog of a bike... Just not meant for everyone... Hayden is still lapping around the circuits in about the same place, as he would have on the honda...

Rossi, he has been circulating around 4,5,or 6th regularly, yet faster in half the races, than Stoner had been on the bike the previous year...

Given where Spies, Lorenzo, and Edwards have qualified, I have zero doubt Rossi would have placed significantly higher if he were on a Yamaha, and even faster if on a Honda...

I'm no Rossi fan, but I don't think he's "lost it" in terms of ability at all. He sure is struggling on the Ducati, though (which makes him human).

I thought one of the advantages of the carbon fibre chassis is that they can be made more consistent than welded frames (there is supposed to be less variation between any two of them).

So when he says he has one bike better than the other, I wonder if he's running two different chassis or if he's referring to the engines (or if the consistency hasn't worked out as planned)?
