Not exactly sad, since everything has to end at some point but Loris is a prime example of a passionate and dedicated rider, a nice example of an "old-style" racer, one who would never say no to a challenge and would never hesitate to exchange paint with other racers on the track.

The only pity in his long career was he never managed a championship in the big category.

Farewell Loris.

Such a shame we won't be seeing Loris on the 1000cc bikes next season, but he's had a bl00dy good time of it in all classes. He's a really likeable guy and will be missed, although not as much as his wife will be on my tv screen...

All good things must come to and end as they say, and watching Loris of old do battle was indeed good. I will remember the golden era of 990 that saw him battle Rossito the final laps in places like Malaysia :) Looking a bit crest fallen these days, his slow filter to the rear of the field has been at times hard to watch and for sure the injuries he's had of late trying to climb forward would trouble the youngsters on the grid let alone the elder statesman that is Capirex. Ciao Tutti Loris, thanks for the good times !

Errrrr, Fred, no disrespect but he had a factory Ducati, true it was a trellis frame version, but the bike he is riding now is the factory bike from last year... the same bike Casey rode.... so unless you are suggesting he could do any better than the arguably fitter and faster Nicky Hayden did on the bike last year which included podiums.... Im not sure you have a valid point there.... but hats off for trying ...
