"Stoner could easily surpass what I've done, and perhaps even Valentino Rossi" – Mick Doohan.

Stoner should have left Ducati years earlier. Despite the fact he has the most wins in the 800cc era it is clear now that Rossi is on it that it isn't a championship contender.

The Ducati has cost Stoner the "chance" of winning championships in recent years. The same as it has done for Rossi this year.

Ah Mick, to think you mentored Valentino in the 500's, what would you think of not testing because you had a sore pinky.

Stoner has also wasted 3 years at Ducati for world championships. Mick is 100% accurate in his assessment of Stoner when other lightweights like Schwantz and Gardner were listening to Rossi's network news babble.

All are now proclaiming Stoner....even Rainey who now reckons Stoner rides like him. Sorry Wayne, Stoner is a class above you and I thought you were good.

Moaning Doohan?

This is, like Waine Rainey, somebody who risked his life and almost lost it. Assen with 5 meter kitty litter and open ditches. Laguna Seca with concrete walls on top of the corkscrew and stawbails for protection. Riding violent 500's.

This is one of the guys who made it possible for Rossi to race injury free for such a long time. Somebody who never touched a traction control bike in his life. Safer tracks, better on-track medical units etc.

If it weren't for his many injuries, Doohan would have 7 500cc titles no problemo.

To put Doohan down like a moaner is utterly disrespectful.

And all this crap about Stoner and TC. Read Rainey's latest interview at FIM, it is know troughout the paddock that Stoner rides with a minimum of electronic aides. And that is what helped him to be fast on the Duc.

Let the Rossi fans explain why this is moaning. "There were some places where we could have been better today, not just on the straight but also in some corners, but anyway it was a great experience and it will help us to understand what we need to do to keep on improving." and "I almost stalled my engine at the start, and then I had problems with too much wheelspin, so I couldn't get on the throttle so hard." and "Then I made a mistake when I hit a bump when braking, had to release the brake and ran off track. It was a pity, but when you're riding on the limit lap after lap.." Sounds like somebody explaining things to me, not moaning.

and @hazbeen,

before you "claim" rossi is my hero, ill save you the trouble.. no he's not,

my hero is my father, not some guy who rides around on a motorbike scoring points.

"He should try doing a real job day in day out, then he might realise how lucky he is.
Posted by Jas6004"

Sounds a bit like Jas6004 is moaning about having to do his "real job" whatever that is....

And to claim that Stoner is "lucky" just because he has worked most of his life towards achieving his goals and is now succesful while you are stuck in a situation you dont enjoy because you are not so motivated is rather lacking in insight.
