@Maybe Not i couldn't agree more...

When Pedrosa came into MotoGP i thought he would absolutely kick Rossi into the weeds and i was hoping he would because i wasn't much of a Rossi fan at that time because I was a huge Gibernau fan but it was/is the other way about...

Look at Rossi and Stoner they were really good in the smaller classes but it wasn't until they came to MotoGP/500cc that we knew how good they are.

Marquez I think will do a Pedrosa... dominate the smaller classes but meet their match with Rossi and Stoner.

Ilaugh at all the comments about Casey's personality. What the hell does that have to do with racing?
Simply stated he is the fastest & best rider on the grid. Period. and this comes from a long time fan of Rossi's.
The era of Rossi winning is over. The competition is the cause of that. Jorge Lorenzo & Casey Stoner have determination and skill which far outweigh previous contenders to the crown...
And for all those in denial about Casey's talents, go back through the years of him riding the 900cc and the 800cc bikes and look at what he does to the bikes and compare him to the other riders. There is no comparison. He uses less electronics than everyone else, including Rossi, it isn't even close. Not to mention that he is the only person to ever tame the Duc.

Difficult to compare eras etc, but without question Stoner is the best rider of the current breed. And what an achievemant that is, Lorenzo, Rossi, Pedrosa all great riders, in that order of ability. Irrespective of how many titles he wins, he will go down as a legend and probably the best ever, certaintly the fastest rider of his generation. Shame he spent 4 years on rubbish equipment, otherwise he could have notched up 4 titles already.

@RawDawg the same could be said about you... every comment I've ever seen you post just bashes Rossi.... it's all the same you need to think of some new material... why don't you take your Moaner crew somewhere else like maybe the Stoner website where people will welcome you all with open arms and have a care what you all think.
@stpoil2lve yea I'll just go put on the 2006 season review and I'll look at what he done on that 990... yea I'm pretty sure he spent more time sliding along the ground on his face than on the bike.
@Paul mate you're decieved how can you call Stoner the "best of the current breed" when he has only won one championship but he is the best along with Rossi and possibly Lorenzo... he doesn't stand as the best on his own.

Doohan is just jumping on the bandwagon of all the greats of motoGp/500's that are stating how good Stoner is: Agostini, Rainey, Gardner, Schwantz and Rossi. But what would these guys know? The real expertise is here on Crash, the sheltered workshop of motoGp racing fans.

doohan tough fkr ok, but he only dominated when all the fast americans quit and went home,or retired,he was fortunate to have little or no creditable opposition in his title years,he had no tough talk when the usa guys whipped his arzz every week

The whole 'Marc Marquez is going to be an instant Motogp star' thing is BS, yeah he's a good rider but MOTO2 bikes are basically slightly better World Super Sport bikes. The step up from them to Motogp is huge, read what riders say about how easy they are to ride compared to the old 250 and because of this ANYONE who moves up is in for a shock. How many WSBK riders have successfully moved to Motogp? let alone glorified WSS riders.

Marquez may become a great Motogp rider but he'll spend the first season learning how to be fast on a Motogp bike, and Bradley smith?? that little ginger better start winning in Moto2 before even considering moving up otherwise he'll be the next useless brit like Toseland or Crashlow.

Come on...the same thing happens in f1 all the time. Somebody starts winning a lot and the old timers come out with their two cents. Stoner will NEVER be as successful as Rossi and anyone that points to Rossi's problems on the Duc or Stoner's success on the Honda is kidding themself. What do you usually see in this year's races...Stoner in the lead and then Lorenzo surrounded by the rest of the Hondas. The Honda is obviously superior this year. Let's not start giving him the crown cause he's still quite a few championships shy of the GOAT
