@tesitfy

The point is Rossi did Stoner a favor, and made Stoner legend, had Stoner gone to Yamaha it would have been claimed Stoner did it all off Rossi's back.

The way it panned out Rossi has made himself look like a fool, and he has damaged his credibility.

Rossi has taken a race winning bike used millions of dollars in development money and how many frames and destroyed his own legend by failing. And statements from Rossi and his team have only made it worse.
Even if Rossi ever wins another race it'll be seen for what it is, he will have bought it by throwing buckets of money at they problem to get an advantage over anyone else, that win will belong to the engineers and Marlboro's cash and not Rossi.

Stoner has kept his mouth shut apart from his jibe about ambition and talent, taken the bike he was given and gone on his winning way.

One more thing. Some like to compare riders by having a single bike brand as a denominator. That's up to you as a fan. But these guys are champions and legends, and even the great Mick Doohan look at records. Race wins are for those who haven't won or not good enough to be a champion. World titles are for those who have been champions - considered the best throughout the season and not just a single race. And I'm sure Stoner would settle for nothing less than another championship. So, let us do Stoner some justice by not demoting his talent to just race wins but let us look at him as a champion and his championship record now and maybe the future. Remember, he wouldn't have moved to Honda if race wins were enough.

If Pedrosa didn't get injured and missing three races this year, Pedrosa would have been at the top of the championship point. Just looked at how consistent Pedrosa compared to Stoner in the last 4 races....

Stoner might equal or surpass doohan but not rossi. The competition on this era is so high, even stoner is riding this good he is lucky to get 4 championship let alone beating rossi's record.

race wins means nothing, WC is what matters.

whats the point of wining alot of races or holding the most race wins if you cant convert it to world titles.

@CRASH "Stoner has matched and maybe even surpassed Doohan in one area - Their constant moaning. Doohan was always complaining about this and about that, and now I have to listen to Stoner doing the same. He should try doing a real job day in day out, then he might realise how lucky he is."

Why is this post not only kept on it is being presented as a Recommended Comment? It has nothing to do with their riding ability, statistics or any thing like that. It is all about how the poster does not like listening to Stoner and in fact says he'll "have to listen to Stoner". Why is this still up and being presented as a recommended post?

@ken

Yuo are RIGHT !!
How many Doohan wins? Rainey? Schwant? NObody remember and don't care.

In next coming years nobody will remember how many stoner wins or Rossi wins.
People just remember Rossi has 7 premier WC + 2 WC, and stoner ????? till the end of this season just 2 WC !!!
