The Italian is believed to have turned down an offer from Honda to ride with LCR after Marco Simoncelli was given the same deal with Gresini.

@ Dylan

Who says Monster will be there next year?

Remember that 2012 will be the 1st year in a long time that Tech3 wont have an American rider.

"next season the tech 3 bikes r gonna start with the same spec as the factory teams or very near it"

As they did this year, but the question is how much, if any, support will the team get though the year? This year Colin and Cal were given the satellite iteration of the 2011 factory bike (i.e. without the advanced electronics package), making them pretty competitive to begin with. However, unlike the factory M1s, the Tech 3 bikes have had no further development throughout the year, leaving them way behind.

Tech 3 look likely to again be equipped with satellite versions of the 1000cc M1, which I'm sure will be strong to begin with. But if Dovi is to challenge Spies for that factory slot, the team will need better support through the season than they've had this year.

@ Dice

Monster will be the team sponsors for Tech 3 again next year, funding both the MotoGP and Moto2 teams.

Bradley Smith's promotion to MotoGP in 2013 has much to do with his personal sponsor being Monster Energy, and Crutchlow also has personal sponsorship from them, so I'd expect to see the Monster livery on Tech 3's bikes for some time to come.

From a factory honda to satellite yam?? Dope, yam are no longer a contender the only rider to make them look a match for Honda has gone and the same season yam went from winning everything to nothing overnight, will only drop further back as Ducati overtake them next year.. Should have kept the honda..

Possibly the best move after his manager (rightly or wrongly) argued with HRC to keep Dovi in the factory squad this year, Honda don't like public humiliation. A 1yr deal, shrewd move too, As lot of other riders contracts expire next season so (possibly) more options available for 2013 + the CRT teams should of sorted themselves out.

Do you think Dovi would be going to Yamaha, if given factory support from Honda? A good coat of paint makes any bit of scrap look new. Would you like to ride for a team who want you to ride for them or because your contract says so? Good luck Dovi clear out the drift wood.

This is a big step forward for Tech3 in my book. With all respect to Colin Edwards, I think Andrea will push the team further on and hopefully push Cal Crutchlow to greater heights also.

I think Dovi may well upset a lot of Simo fans next year.If he manages to finish the season ahead of Simo,Honda will be kicking themselves that they let the wrong guy go.And being as Dovi is by far the more consistant rider,i think that it may well happen.
