The Italian is believed to have turned down an offer from Honda to ride with LCR after Marco Simoncelli was given the same deal with Gresini.

@ DSMC

I doubt very much that Dovi has it in mind to secure a 2nd year with Tech 3 though. His main ambition will be to earn himself a place in Yamaha's factory squad. So the guy he'll really be up against is Ben Spies, whose contract is up at the end of 2012 and whose place he'll be gunning for. He'll want that factory Yamaha and will be doing his best to show he deserves it. Continuing on as a satellite rider will be the last thing he'll be after.

Just I expected he will sign with tech 3. Who want to stay to the manufacturer that doesn't view your accomplishment for being third on champ standing as a keeper. To ad salt to his wound they sign and giving a factory support to Simo who is 8 in the championship. Anyway Dovi deserved better treatment than Honda can hive him and i know Yamaha will treat him well just like the current and past riders.

Honda are really psycho baastds...they always in a hurry to get big gifts with any expense...poor dovi did best of his motogp career and contributed to hondas and its high time for a change as he is given lot less respect...The Yamaha is a good move i guess....they have a very strong satellite bike(compared to honda n dukes)...and they have a very friendly and fun loving environment( as stated earlier by ROSSI,EDWARDS,LORENZO,SPIES & MELANDRI)(its high time the honda psychos shud change - PUIG)and dovi can clearly get the biggies with the superior cornering of the yamies....go dovi n yamaha ...good luck...

We all seem to be forgetting the interview from Motegi where Harve Poncheral said whoever joins Crutchlow next year is only getting a deal for 1 year.

They're reserving the spot for Bradley Smith.

Sucks for Dovi. He'll likely be looking for a ride again for 2013.

No point in giving honda a hard time . He has been given more than a fair shot at it with them and it didn't work out unfortunately . Nothing more to say really.

@Don R
I believe that every factory seat is open after 2012, every factory contract is set to expire! Not that extensions won't be signed, but it could be a real silly, silly season!
