MCN reports this week, that at Sepang Suzuki will commit to 2012 with Hopper and Bautista on GSVR800s..

You gotta be in it to win it. For Suzuki to leave just as we are getting the new format could signify the end of them as serious big bike manufacturers.
Far better to cobble up the old bikes on the cheap and remain a presence..see what transpires in the first year.

Last time out for Hopper was Brno where he was as fast as Bautista and inside the top 10 before mangling his finger.

Hotter weather in Malaysia may suit the would be great to see them battling for top 5, if maybe a little hopeful..

Hopper: PLEASE sign on with a team that can provide you a bike capable of qualifying on the front row. Being stuck with a third-row bike can be (and WAS) hazardous to your health. (Just ask Valentino!)

Many great riders with only 5 quality seats on bikes capable of winning. There can't be anyone with more than a flame between the ears who thinks that it will be anything other than a factory Honda/Yamaha series next year again, right?

Whether you are Hopper, Marquez or Rossi, you are not touching the podium (unless a pile of DNFS or a torrential monsoon) without one of those uber-bikes.

I really, really hope Hopper does something special but it drives me nuts how little credit Bautista gets.
It's like people think it's easy to ride a bike to its limits... ..far from it!

Alvaro Bautista is an awesome talent that has had to ride like Stoner (i.e. balls out) to get the GSVR to where its been running.
Which is why he's crashed.

Good luck Hopper, but Alvaro is the man.

Oh, and I agree with Demo. This season has been awful, Hopkins is the main reason I'll be getting up to watch it live.

Motomoto: this time last year lots of people were saying Ducati would win going away this year, especially with Rossi onboard. The fact is, designing and developing winning motorcycles is not easy, and not related to the amount of money involved, either (just look at Honda's performance up to this year since the introduction of the 800s). Next year /may/ turn out to be a Honda/Yamaha lockout, but who knows? And anyone who thinks Suzuki is the financial tiddler here should look up their annual results: their 2010 turnover is almost exactly double that of Yamaha (Y2.47trn vs. Y1.29trn).
