Dani DID his last run with soft tyres indeed and they seem to make a difference over there.

Even if he still should've been FIRST today, this is good news, there's nothing more threatening for a good race than some huge and early gapes between front runners.

Those of you that try and belittle Stoner's championship this year by saying he is on the best bike I think you are being fooled by the fact that there are 4 factory Honda's with 4 absolutely top class riders so of course they are going to be doing well. If there were just 2 factory Honda's and 2 satellite bikes circulating with the satellite Yamaha's the picture would look very different. The fact that there are the extra 2 Honda's along with the 2 Yamaha's and the Suzuki make Stoner's dominance even more impressive. For me the respect the top 2 riders have for each other (Stoner - Honda and Lorenzo - Yamaha) speaks volumes. I think some of the people posting on this site would get a lot more enjoyment out of MotoGP if they learnt to give ALL the riders the respect the deserve - they are ALL legends!

46 you are having a laugh aren't you?? Dovi was a 100 points behind Jorge last year and Rossi and dani missed half the season between them gifting him an extra 100 points more than he would have had.. There are 5 hondas in the top 5 because the honda is the best bike by a long way there is no shame in that, it is just Caseys fans trying to make out he won the championship on a donkey. Both Jorg and Rossi would have won given the same circumstances and all the stoner fans would be shouting from the rooftops that it was down to the bike.. Keep out of the kitchen..
Dani fastest on soft and hard rubber but expect Casey to catch him and pass him tomorrow. If Casey had done the lap Dani had antipodean sock draws would be empty and we'd all have to listen to the moaning.. Great work by Dani, Alvaro, and Colin 'the texas tornado' Edwards. And again woefully under performing from Spies he's performances are uncannily akin to Bayliss motogp career, has gone backwards since he started thinking a

Good job by Pedrosa, hopefully he can keep it up and we might have a battle on race day.

Wonder if Stoner is still just messing around with setup, will have to wait and see what happens in QP and warmup.

I'm sure Stoner has something in reserve for quali.

The race might be a different matter if Dani can get one of his lightning quick starts but the smart money's on Stoner IMO...

No doubt Rossi will have some excuse: my shoulder aches, Stoner is shorter, bike unsorted etc....

Rossi was outclassed by Lorenzo on the same bike and now, for the first time, his lack of talent is really exposed on a Ducati.

Never has a phrase: "Your ambition exceeds your talent" been more deserved !

A few thoughts!
I dont believe the average person understands how difficult it is to go fast on these bikes.Every wild card rider this year has run at the back of the field. Some like Bostrom could not even finnish the race.Cal Crutchlow is no slouch, but at this level he is not even average, always running closer to the back of the field. All I can say is that everyone of them are hero's The lack of competitors in moto gp is a joke, but when you see how few can ride the bikes you understand.

Masterclass indeed by Lorenzo though one does have to speculate why he left it till Rossi had two bad injuries to take the fight to him(timing perhaps??).. Have to do it when the guy your beating is on top form to make it look convincing ala Rossi on Casey in 2008 and on JLo is 2009.. Jlo had the eaxct same circumstances Rossi had against Casey only he had a more comparable bike but didn't just get beat he got hammered.
