Out all all the 100's of posts on the subject, Simo's Dad doing a lap of honour on Simo's bike is the most appropriate IMHO.

Surely Dorna can set aside 5 minutes for that some time on Sunday.

re: "maybe he can end his MotoGP caree with a fitting tribute to Marco."

or maybe he doesn't have to end his motogp career at all...? it's kind of a strange way to look at things, but with simo's passing, i'm wondering if aoyo can't forego his switch to worldsupers and stay with gresini...? honda's historically been known to favor having a japanese rider on their machinery in the premier class (see entry for ukawa, katoh, tomato/tamada, etc). aoyo's got the chops, but unfortunately there were other bigger and brighter stars in terms of marketability (read simo, dovi) ahead of him in the "pecking order" for kit and support. be it good or bad, these 2 individuals no longer factor into the equation and we've still got a ton of time before season 2012. the fat lady doesn't even know what to do with herself right now...?

this is really going to suck not having Sic on the grid
anymore.
i reckon he would of been a real condenter next season. maby not for the WC but for 2nd or 3rd outright. he was really starting to mature in this class.

@roger that.

i kinda agree with you there, i mean look at his last interview at PI, he says

"i push in the first couple of lap to try warm up the tyre, i was very sure of my 2nd place, but then the rain come and i take a big risk in turn 1 and Dovi arrive on me and over take me, i try to pay attention and stay with him for a few lap, i lead 2nd position for all the race i cant lose the fight in the last lap so i manage to overtake him and take the 2nd place"..

last season and the start of this season thats not the Simo we all knew. he would just try to win it from the get go.

Marco know to us as Sic, was on the verge of being an Alien, and had he had more time, I'm sure would have reached this status, which many racers have not. Sic was a racer and raced hard, which made for great viewing and will be sorely missed. He entertained us all. He loved the sport that ultimately calmed his life in unexpected circumstances. He would love nothing more then to see someone have the opportunity now available, to be taken with both hands this weekend. He would certainly not want the racing to stop on his count. His aggresive stile will be missed by fans, but the riders will be thankful his is not chasing them down around the world circuits.
